A disastrous earthquake hit Central italy on August 24, 2016, at 3:36 am (GMT +1). At the moment I’m writing this post (Aug. 25), the number of victims is about 240, hundreds of people are injured, and we don’t know the number of missing people.
Italian civil protection forces did witfully perform above its duty, as usual in these cases, and in a few hours rescue was in the affected areas.
An official Italian firemen video shows the situation of one of the most hit towns, Amatrice, Lazio. Most of buildings of the old medieval and old downtowns of Italian built-up areas seemingly appeared very strong, built with huge stones, but actually with no earthquakes proof systems. So, at the first big tremor, all the walls come down like a house of cards No apparent solution to this situation, if not rebuilding every old sructure.
A CNN service about the thing HERE
Here are a video of how the earthquake all came out, by the National Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology:
Another one of a woman pulled out from the rubble by the rescuers.
Finally, this is how looked Amatrice before the earthquake. To relate the first and this video, note the new red building in the two ones. Also, to understand why they are cooking pasta, know that the famous Italian recipe “Spaghetti all’amatriciana” derives its name after this village.
Here are some links, in Italian language, to aid the locals:
- CRI (Italian Red Cross)
- ANCI (Italian National Municipalities Association)
- Caritas (Catholic Aid Organization)
- FCEI (Italian Evangelical Churches Federation)
No fear by clicking on the above links: I’m not a hacker or a jackal.
Of course, if you need any help in understanding what to do in pratical terms, I’m always here.
Just one little thing: please, I ask you not to post those sappy and worthless posts, like “Prey for Italy” “Prey for … (replace the dots with whatever you want, there’s no fucking difference). No aid, no food, no tents, no medicines, no rescuers and no means of assistance will arrive to people injured by the earthquake with these lovely and fucking stuff (this also applies to every disaster, terrorist attack, and so on and so forth). Remember, you don’t clean your conscience with this useless shit.
